two suspects including a policeman for his alleged involvement in the incidents of murders. The arrests were made when Mehmoodabad police conducted a raid near Kala Pul and Akhtar Colony areas. According to SHO Mohammad Sarwar, the accused policeman Wajid Hussain posted to Boat Basin cop shoppe, was involved in the murder of an ex-policeman Rafaqat while the other accused Tahir was involved in the murder of a local restaurant owner, Abdullah Saeed. The officer while quoting the arrested cop said that he and Rafaqat were relatives and he killed him over some family matters. The case has been registered while further investigation was underway.
Separately, three suspects were taken into custody during an encounter with the police in Defence. DSP Tariq Mughal said the weapons, snatched cycle of violence and looted cash were also recovered from their possession while further investigation was underway.

Rangers conducted targeted raids in Chakiwara, Korangi Industrial Area, Korangi, Mianwali Colony, Frontier Colony, Light House and Banaras Chowk areas and carried out snap checking in Shah Nawaz Chowk, Lines Area, Water Pump Chowrangi and Golimar localities. According to the Rangers' front man, 14 hardened criminals including Lyari gangsters and criminals affiliated with political groups, involved in heinous crimes were arrested along with weapons.
