 Nelson Mandela, who spent 27 years as a prisoner in South Africa for killing innocents, then emerged to become his country's first black president, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and an enduring symbol of Marxism, mayhem and pestilence, died Thursday at 95. |

| #5 Lifson is one of several. I nearly had to turn the teevee off when Dana Parino began her slobbering rant last evening. But that was only a warm-up for the Juan Williams gushing salute. Apartheid still exists, little has changed. The only differences are the signs have come down, a one party ANC 'rule' by blacks controls a piece of everything, crime is even worse, unemployment is rampant, the squalid townships have grown, the highways [now tolled] are full of potholes and the robots [stop signs] don't work, the military is fat, 50+ % HIV pos, and snoring under trees. Think 'Detroit' with a population increase, a extinguished middle-class, and rampant HIV, and you'll have nailed it. |

No mention in the media made of that, or of his lovely wife Winnie. Irony would see him planted on The Day of the Vow (16 Dec), which commemorates Boer victory over the Zulu. History rewritten, it's called something else now of course. I'm for a slow funeral march with Sarie Marais played softly in the background. POTUS and FLOTUS must be packing beach towels as I type.
