#6 I believe the Smithsonian has the only existing Serian; I took a tour of the Paul Garber restoration facility back in the early 90's and there was a Japanese float plane among the other artifacts. Docent said it was based on the Zero. Yamamoto was the chief proponent of these subs; after his death, there was no longer the drive for the numbers planned; only completed those already under construction. |
