Americans Being Forced To Pay For Al Jazeera, Part Of Some Basic Packages | |
2013-09-10 | |
[AmThinker] Two weeks ago, Al Jazeera America launched, beaming into 48 million homes across the country. The media company that allowed the late Osama bin Laden ... who is now among the dear departed, though not among the dearest... to use it as a vehicle to communicate with jihadists around the world is now on your TV screen and you are paying for it. The network pushed its way onto basic cable packages with several providers. If you subscribe to Verizon, Comcast, Dish Network or DirecTV, you are forced to subsidize Al Jazeera's propaganda as part of your cable bill whether you like it or not. We should not have to fund Al Jazeera through our cable bills. Americans do not want to pay for their vile propaganda. I'm launching a petition drive calling on cable companies to drop Al Jazeera from their basic cable packages.
...contributed $624,618 to the 2008 Obama campaign... Cable, which carried Current TV, dropped Al Jazeera America. AT &T U-Verse was originally going to carry the network but backed out and is now being sued by Al Jazeera for breach of contract. Cablevision and Cox Communications do not air Al Jazeera America. #10 tu3031 is right on. I dumped our TV connection to Dish Network, and later the local telco wired connection to TV. Will watch movies from time to time, but do not miss the bundled package of sh*t put out by the channels. Why not pay a basic service fee plus a monthly charge for each channel that you select? |

#9 al j america serves two constructive purposes 1 it marginally reduces the audience for MSNBC and CNN 2 it is heavily subsidized by the emir of Qatar probably to the tune of tens of millions and maybe a hundred million of dollars per year and the salaries and some other expanses are mostly going to the pockets of Americans |

#5 We've been screwed with subsidizing MSNBC for years. Unbundling would have killed it off years ago. |

#3 Dumped my TV two years ago. Don't miss the 5 Spanish channels, the 4 home shopping channels, BET, the Kardashians, Bitch Wives of Wherever, Honey Boo Boo...and that's just the tip of the iceberg. 125 bucks a month for 99% crap. Don't miss it at all. |

#2 Idiots stopped their web coverage. It was never that good to begin with. But paying for such coverage is out of the question. I don't want it that much. Forget about the whole thing. Bunch of liars anyways. I just never wanted to have to waste a computer for their coverage. That was all. Looks like they took themselves OUT. Liars anyways. So down with it. BBC is not much... but somewhat better. Screw moslem broadcasting networks. |

#1 Bravo ATT- U-verse!! And don't back down. If you have one of these providers... Verizon, Comcast, DirecTV and Dish Network , please immediately make your feelings known. Al-Jizz needs to go or at the least it should be an optional channel. |
