| [Al Ahram] A spate of boom-mobiles in mostly-Shiite neighbourhoods of the Iraqi capital on Tuesday evening killed at least 14 people, security and medical officials said. The bombings struck across Storied Baghdad ...located along the Tigris River, founded in the 8th century, home of the Abbasid Caliphate... at around 6:00 pm (1500 GMT) and left dozens of others maimed, in the latest in a trend of increased attacks in the evening as Iraqis visit cafes and other public areas. Nine other people were killed in attacks around Iraq earlier on Tuesday, part of a surge in violence in recent months that has sparked concerns that Iraq is edging back towards the all-out sectarian war of 2006-2007. |
