There are groups of the same name in Tunisia and Yemen, with the Tunisian version currently most active... leader in connection with the liquidation of opposition politician Chokri Belaid. On August 27th, Tunisia officially designated the hard-line salafist movement as a terrorist organization tied to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). |
