| Roadside bomb kills ranger in southern Thailand |

| [Bangkok Post] A military ranger was killed yesterday in a roadside bomb attack in Yala province and at least eight security officers were injured in several bombs and gunfire attacks in southern Thailand. Cpl Paradon Pechjutha was severely injured as a result of the attack that occurred while he was on patrol yesterday afternoon. He died later in the hospital. In another attack, three soldiers were wounded in an ambush that broke out on an isolated road in Bannang Sata district. In other incidents, at least three bomb explosions, including one in a school compound, wounded five security officers who were escorting teachers in Yala and Pattani yesterday. |
