Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... Leader Ramadan Shalah slammed the renewal of talks between Israel and the Paleostinians and said: "I believe that the Paleostinian leadership is aware that the renewal of talks places the Paleostinian issue on the barter table together with other Middle East issues, and I hope they will not fall into this trap." Shalah, who made the remarks in Beirut, added that "the Arab Initiative is a new and more dangerous Balfur Declaration. The Zionist enterprise is about to reap the last fruits of the Nakba when they declare Paleostine as a Jewish-only state." |
