Senators demand transparency on EPA interactions with environmentalists
2013-05-01
[THEHILL] Sens. David Vitter (R-La.) and James Inhofe (R-Okla.) demanded transparency from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on their relationships with environmental groups, such as the Sierra Club, so the public can see how these groups are shaping policy.

"The American people deserve to understand the process EPA follows when crafting the environmental policies under which they must live," Inhofe and Vitter wrote Monday in a letter to acting EPA administrator Bob Perciasepe.

"It is important for Congress to understand the relationship between EPA and nongovernmental organizations, particularly as it relates to the coordination and influence over public policymaking," the letter stated. "Moreover, these relationships have the potential to push states and other stakeholders out of the process. Accordingly, releasing the correspondence between the EPA and these entitles is in the public interest."

The EPA people have jobs directly paid by taxpayers.

So do the enviros. They sue the government, the taxpayers pay them.

#5  ..just another government agency with rotating jobs between the industry/sector and public service - see: Fed/Treasury and Banks/Investment Firms. The Instapundit recommends that when government appointees leave and take up public sector jobs in the industries or lobbying on behalf thereof the sector they had oversight or regulatory responsibilities for, their personal income tax should be at 50 percent for a number of years.
