Libya arrests six for alcohol poisoning case |

The home-made alcohol is believed to have been tainted with methanol. Methanol, which is also used as fuel, is often added to "Boukha" to strengthen the alcoholic content. Its health risks include blindness, kidney failure and seizures, and it can be fatal if the methanol content is more concentrated. According to Health Minister Noureddine Doghman, 709 cases had been reported since Saturday. The corpse count is expected to rise. |
