| Protest over killing of religious scholars |

| [Dawn] On Monday, Wafaqul Madaris organised a major sit-in at D Chowk, where 5,000 madressah leaders, workers and students gathered to protest the killing of religious scholars in Karachi, Quetta and the Tribal Areas. Students sat in rows on the street and recited the Quran, while religious leaders delivered speeches. Speakers called for justice for the recent target killings in Quetta, and condemned the Badami Bagh incident in Lahore, in which over 100 Christian homes were burnt. |
