Somali government strikes deal with Sufi group |

![]() ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... which carries out terrorist attacks on both civilians and government supporters. The treaty came as a high level delegation led by Somali Prime Minister is touring Galgadud region where Ahlu Sunna controls. A meeting, which led to the signing of this new deal, was held in Abudwaq town and the government was represented in that meeting its interior and defence ministers while Ahlu Sunna was represented by two of its top leaders. According to the treaty, Ahlu Suuna forces will be incorporated into the Somali national force. Ahlu Sunna fought bloody struggle against Al-Shabaab in Somalia after the Al Qaeda inspired group destroyed and vandalized graves to some Suni leaders in Somalia. |
