Michigan-made Arab-American exhibit heading to California |

Dearborn — A made-in-Michigan exhibition on Arab-Americans who have served in the U.S. military and diplomatic corps is heading to California. The exhibition, "Patriots & Peacemakers: Arab-Americans in Service to Our Country," is preparing for two extended stays in Southern California. It stops at the Student Center of the University of California, Irvine, from Saturday until Jan. 26, and the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles from Feb. 16 to March 16. The exhibit opened in 2011 at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn. |

#3 Arab American is one thing. Muslim American another one. JFM raises a good point. Most Arab Americans are Christian. Most Muslim Americans are Black or from the Indian subcontinent. Kahlil Gibran, for instance, was Arab American. Ditto, in the present tense, are Selma Hayek and Frank Zappa, according to the Arab American Institute. |
