Iran: Obama Sent Secret Message Recognizing Our Nuclear Rights

Last week, Reza Kahlili, a former Revolutionary Guard member wrote that Iran had reached a deal with the Obama Administration to preserve portions of its nuclear program.

Hossain Ebrahimi told reporters yesterday that Obama sent the regime a secret message. On Saturday, the Iranian regime confirmed this report.

The Iranian regime revealed on Saturday that the Obama Administration sent them a secret message through the Swiss Embassy recognizing their nuclear rights. The Swiss government, acting through its Embassy in Tehran, serves as protecting power for U.S. interests in Iran.

Senior Iranian parliamentary sources revealed on Saturday that the Swiss envoy to Tehran has quoted US President Barack Obama as acknowledging IranÂ’s nuclear rights.

Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Livia Leu Agosti attended a meeting with senior Iranian foreign ministry officials a few days ago to submit a letter from the US president to Tehran leaders.

Vice-Chairman of the Iranian ParliamentÂ’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Ebrahimi told FNA that during the meeting, Agosti had told the Iranian officials that President Barack Obama recognizes IranÂ’s right of access and use of the nuclear technology.

“There are a couple of points with regard to this (US) message (to Iran),” Ebrahimi said and added, “Firstly, during the session to submit the message, the Swiss ambassador to Tehran quoted the US president as saying that ‘we (the US) recognize your nuclear rights’.”

As regards the second issue, the lawmaker said that the Swiss diplomat had also quoted Obama as saying that “I didn’t want to impose sanctions on your central bank but I had no options but to approve it since a Congress majority had approved the decision.”

IranÂ’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said on Sunday that Iran has received a US message regarding the Strait of Hormoz via three different channels.

“The US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice had handed a letter to Iran’s Ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazayee; the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran (Livia Leu Agosti) also conveyed the same thing; and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani delivered the same message to Iranian officials,” he said last Sunday.

The US letter follows threats by Iran last month to shut off the Strait of Hormoz – the world’s most important oil shipping lane – if new US and EU sanctions over its nuclear program halted Iranian oil exports.

#14  I first read of the secret message on The Blaze 9-3-12--conveyed during Ban's visit to Tehran. Champ was afraid Israel would take out their nuke facilities and sent a message official WH policy did not support them and didn't want retaliation against our resources in the region. Nonetheless, not only has the UN secretary-general gone to Iran to round out the guest list of Iran’s pals in “non-alignment.” He has also brought with him, under the UN banner, a former high-ranking U.S. diplomat, to help pay court to Khamenei.

Did Feltman have a choice? After all, he left his career with the U.S. government, and on July 2 joined the UN, where he now works for Ban.

#9  I don't doubt that O might do this, but I do doubt that it will mean anything. It's just more rope-a-dope from the mullahs because they aren't quite done yet. They'll drag out the talks until they have a bomb (or bombs) and then use them. The only line to take with them is the hard one.

When you are using the number of google hits as a fact to prove a point, please remember to put quotation marks around the phrase you are googling. Otherwise the count is for all permutations of the words in the search term. The correct count for "Obama October Surprise Iran" is 955 as of this morning.

#3  My SWAG is the Iranians are just messing with us. It weakens the support for sanctions. If the Americans have cut a secret deal, why should anyone else take an economic hit by not dealing with the Persians?
