| Two killed in Iraq attacks |

| [Bangla Daily Star] Shootings and kabooms in and around Iraq's main northern city yesterday killed two people, including a soldier, and maimed four others, security and medical officials said. In a Kurdish-majority neighbourhood in the east of djinn-infested Mosul, a civilian was killed in a drive-by shooting, according to Iraqi army Lieutenant Khaled Hamed and doctor Mahmud Haddad at the city's main hospital. It was not immediately clear why the man was bumped off. South of djinn-infested Mosul in the town of Qaiyarah, a soldier was killed and two others were maimed by a roadside kaboom that appeared to be targeting an army patrol, Hamed and Haddad said. |
