Polio case detected in Kurram |

![]() ...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set... case has been detected in far-flung Tatan Ragha area of central Kurram tribal agency, medics said. Dr Sultan Ali, medical superintendent at agency headquarters hospital Parachinar, confirmed the polio case. He said that poliovirus was detected in the 18-month-old Sabia, daughter of Mohammad Ibrahim, in Tatan Ragha area of central Kurram in September. He said the polio drops could not be applied to children in the far-flung areas of central Kurram due to security reasons. He said for the last three years the unrest and militancy forced the vaccination teams to stay away from the sensitive areas. |
