Ed Klein: Benghazi albatross being fitted for Hillary's neck?
2012-10-13
With tensions between President Obama and the Clintons at a new high, former President Bill Clinton is moving fast to develop a contingency plan for how his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, should react if Obama attempts to tie the Benghazi fiasco around her neck, according to author Ed Klein [author of the Amateur, a book on President Obama.] In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, Klein said sources close to the Clintons tell him that Bill Clinton has assembled an informal legal team to discuss how the Secretary of State should deal with the issue of being blamed for not preventing the Benghazi terrorist attack last month.

If blame for the security failures falls to Hillary Clinton, Klein said, it's possible that she would even consider resigning over the issue. But as for the chance that Hillary Clinton would resign, Klein said in the interview: "At this moment, it appears unlikely that she's going to do that. I mean that would be an extreme step for her to take."

Klein said sources close to the Clintons tell him that Bill Clinton has assembled an informal legal team to discuss how the Secretary of State should deal with the issue of being blamed for not preventing the Benghazi attack. Klein said Bill Clinton's informal legal team is made up of people he's used in the past in legal situations. He asked them by phone to tell him how Hillary Clinton should handle this situation and what to do if she is subpoenaed to testify to the House Oversight Committee and provide them with memos regarding Benghazi.

As of Friday afternoon, the White House, the State Department and the former president's office did not return requests from The Daily Caller for comment on Klein's reporting.

#9  remember how Janice Reno took the blame for Waco - after she did her popularity went up because she was seen as the 'adult' in the Clinton admin (Bill Clinton's rep went down and stayed down until the Ok City atrocity)

Hil should think about this

#7  Hillary - your time is over. Move on nicely dear. Don't make a mess of this, please.

#4  The Intelligence Community (IC) isn't about to take the fall for this mess. How interesting no; the Klingons E&E plan was 100% successful. They had zero casualties, not one. That leaves only the White House and the State Department for rose pinning.

I continue to see the MSM rubbish that the "IC and... Klingons were the target". Yes, a fight is brewing.

#3  heh - from Hillbuzz (Via The Other McCain)

The other Hillary-haters in my life are also crowing today, by filling up the in-box with “Did you see Jay Carney throw Hillary under the bus!” messages to me via email or in comments on this site. This was all inspired by Carney’s press conference today, where he claims that Joe Biden was only talking about the President himself and the White House staff when he said in last night’s debate that “no one knew about requests for more security in Libya”. The implication from those in the He-Man-Hillary-Haters-Club being that Carney “threw Hillary under the bus” and that she’s going to be another casualty of this administration…along with all the other people whose lives Obama ruined to protect himself.

Clearly none of these people have ever met Hillary Clinton.

I smell a fight brewing
