Romney extends poll lead as bullying Biden is blasted for 'rude and disrespectful' display

The poll, released today but conducted before Biden's hectoring, smirking debate clash with Paul Ryan

, is the latest indication that Romney's gains after his strong debate performance mark a shift in the U.S. presidential race rather than merely a temporary bounce.

On Thursday, Obama had led Romney by one point in the Rasmussen survey. Biden's performance has done little to dent Romney's advance in the latest Gallup daily national tracking poll, which has the GOP contender leading Obama by two points, with Romney on 49 per cent and Obama on 47 per cent - unchanged from Thursday's poll.

With a flash of his teeth - and a lot of finger-jabbing - the Vice President won plaudits from his fans during the debate last night, but his performance ran a very high risk of being seen as bullying and condescending, alienating swing and female voters.

Veteran columnist Peggy Noonan described Biden as 'weirdly aggressive' and said his bullishness 'looked mean and second-rate' as Republicans claimed that Biden interrupted Ryan 82 times during the 90-minute debate.

#10  I'd not be quite so hard on Joe. Remember he'd been trained for this performance for six days by Axelrod

#9  ...how often did that adolescent smart aleck class clown/jerk ever control himself in class? Some just never grow up. File under arrested adolescent development [which begins to make the whole Donk behavior and modus operandi more understandable]

#8  Americans are finally seeing our leaders without the wash the MSM gives them. One is a feckless, spineless thin skinned narcissist. The other is a loud, rude and annoying with dementia.

Any wonder they are sinking like the Titanic in the polls? (even with the MSM having +9 D slants)

#6  I know its part of the job and all, have to go with babs, but ole joe got a couple more rounds of pumice and polish didn't he? Odd tint of flesh color too.

Now, he was doing his sneer mere moments into the debate, so he: A:has poor impulse control, not a good thing for a leader. B:did it all on purpose, showing quite poor decorum.

What kind of sneaks by, at least according to what the moderator let them talk about, was the Middle East strategy. This is supposed to be his strong point. I know it was difficult to follow the uhhhmms, finger jabs, laughing at misery and solutions, and whatchyamacallet bonds, but joeker insisted that the Middle East is indeed a powder keg where people keep taking down the no smoking signs, but all will be well because Iran has not developed a longer range missile. That's the plan: it is technically impossible for Iran to develop or purchase a longer range missile.

And mighty joe always tells it how it is, man! Guy on TV told me so.

#5  Intelligence community teels us everything we need to know about Iran but cant tell a mob from an attack by 40 guys with military hardware. I think the VP is making up stories.
