| 7 Afghan Police Killed by Helmand Roadside Bomb |

| [Tolo News] Seven Afghan Local Police (ALP) officers including a commander were killed by a roadside kaboom blast in southern Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province on Wednesday morning, local officials said. Today's blast happened about 07:00 AM in the Nad-e-Ali district after the police vehicle struck an improvised bomb (IED) in the road, the district governor Mohammad Ibrahim said. One of the officer's survived but has sustained injuries. "A local police commander, Mohammad Agha, is also among the dead," Ibrahim added. No group including the Taliban has grabbed credit for the blast. It comes a day after four people were killed and two others were maimed by two separate blasts in the same Helmand district. Three civilians travelling in a car early morning hit an IED in Nad-e-Ali district's Lochak area, killing all three. About an hour later, a second blast happened only two kilometers away when police were attempting to remove an IED in the area. One policeman was killed and two were maimed. Insurgents frequently use hidden IEDs in the road to target Afghan and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... -led troops, but the victims are usually civilians. |
