The Egyptian police officer was with his wife and children when the incident occurred. The gunnies also tried to steal his
cycle of violence. On Monday, two cars drove past a security checkpoint in north Sinai and opened fire on Egyptian forces, with no reported injuries.
Security forces announced a state of high alert in the Sinai peninsula following the incident.
