| #1 Read an article soon after Sept 11 2001 that suggested the way to fight Jihadism was to treat it as Arab imperialism and support muslim countries outside of Arabia. Shrink militant islam rather than going for the throat as we *mostly* did (I say mostly because we coddled Saudi Arabia of course). I still think that, combined with a massive nuclear power program, would have been a better plan. Still, I feel we gave the Islamic world a fair chance to join the civilzed world and now I feel few regrets if they fall into chaos. |
