| Somali, AMISOM police carry out night-time operations in Mogadishu |

| (Sh.M.Network)--Mogadishu, Somali capital has seen on Thursday night a heavy presence of army, with fingers on the triggers as they were patrolling the streets. Soldiers from Somali and African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... police force were lined up in every junction in the capital, searching cars and people in a bid to curb the insecurity activities by gangs. Ahmed Hassan Malin, Benadir police chief, told Shabelle Media during an interview overnight that the aim of the move is to make safe the capital that ridden recently by nigh-time killings and attacks against Somali people. Mogadishu hosted last month September 10, 2012, a milestone election that Somali MPs elected Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as the new president of the horn of Africa nation, a sign of improving security. |
