| Retired police officer gunned down in southern Thailand | |

| A retired police officer was shot and killed in a drive-by attack in Yala province on Thursday. The incident took place at about 9:30 a.m. on a local road in Raman district. Pol Lt Ingsari Doroning, 53, a retired officer, was returning home on a motorcycle from taking his child to a nursery when he was followed by two men on another motorcycle. The pillion rider opened fire at him with a handgun. He was hit many times in the head and torso and died on the way to Raman Hospital. Pol Lt Ingsari had just left the police service under an early retirement program four days ago.
