Intl. food aid for flood victims stolen: Niger minister |
2012-09-10 |
[Iran Press TV] ![]() "We have information that aid is being diverted to other places, that is, not to the victims of the flooding," Rooters quoted Niger's minister of the interior and public security, Abdou Labo, as saying on Saturday. "At several of the sites where we are housing displaced people, we have determined that the food aid and the products (sent there) did not arrive in their entirety", he added. He further argued that those who had stolen emergency food aid, organized by the United Nations ...an international organization whose stated aims of facilitating interational security involves making sure that nobody with live ammo is offended unless it's a civilized country... , would be put on trial. Earlier reports in late August said that six weeks of floods, triggered by torrential rains, killed at least 52 people in Niger. Meanwhile, ...back at the argument, Jane reached into her purse for her .38... some 400,000 people have been forced to live in emergency shelters in schools and mosques in the Niamey which is the capital and the largest city of the west African country. |
