#9 CIA? are they the subtle folks responsible for shootouts in Karachi and compromising humanitarian efforts to eradicate polio? I am sure that they are doing a great job on tactics and day-to-day problem solving with some oopsies like those above, but strategically I can't believe they are doing anything. If they were doing their Strategic job of framing the local problems in our favor, then we would be seeing a dozen threads of Koran interpretation arguing over the meaning of the thing on Al Jaziera, NBC and Detroit public radio. And we would see unexpected IED events in North Wazoo that blew up some do-badders from time to time. And we would see bags of counterfeit Pakistani currency being used to buy up local hard boys to be shipped to Syria. And we would see a serious effort to broadcast in Urdu information to help educate people about lives that they might aspire to live. And some lib-tard would have leaked a story about deep infiltration of the Pakistani identity, health and census system to develop enduring information about each individual there. Do we see any of these things? NO. Tactically competent, strategically MIA. I have been hoping to see any sign of strategic thoughts since Petraeus took the reins, but sadly see nothing. |

#8 I'm shocked that the CIA hasn't made a big deal out of Taliban Koran burnings long ago. It would not take much to make the suggestion that things were done improperly or for improper reasons. Instead we let them define things for us when we burn a few desocrated Korans the proper way. CIA did well in the first few months after Sept 11 but its hard to see whats been done since. If they are active they are very subtle. |

#5 It's worse than that, Frank. If you don't use the same 12 point Helvetica font that Mo used, you're an infidel. Ya know, a pop-up Quran would be pretty cool. Kids love those things. |

#3 Many moslems consider a Quran with excess decorations to be a desecration. When moslems visit Saudi Arabia, the guards examine the Qurans the visitors have brought with them. If the Quran has excessive decorations or any illustrations or if the pagination is not to the liking of the Saudis, the Quran is confiscated and burned. The Taliban described in this article may be doing something like this. |

#2 So, if you use an IED on a vehicle carrying a Quran, is it a crime against Islam? |
