| #3 Panetta's apology, which is mentioned in the article contains this interesting statement: "We honor and respect the religious practices of the Afghan people, without exception." So the US military officially 'honors' and 'respects' the death penalty for religious freedom in the form of apostasy from islam, among other practices? Is murderous intolerance now a virtuous trait in the view of the US? OTOH the US military officially 'condemns' the peaceful exercise of 1st Amendment rights by an American in the US as 'hateful, intolerant and extremely disrespectful.' Would it be unreasonable to conclude that the enemy (who must not be named) won the 9/11 war? |
