Bangladesh army says plot to topple government foiled |

Bangladesh's army has stopped a plot to bring down the government of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by a group of former and active officers, according to a military spokesman. Brigadier General Muhammad Masud Razzaq said, "Specific information has been unearthed that some officers in military service have been involved in the conspiracy to topple the system of democratic governance." He added that the officers had been identified. Some had been detained and would be presented before a military court, he said without any further details. |

#3 Don't you have to have a functioning government to have a coup? Otherwise it is business as usual. Bangladesh and Pakistan are Somolia with mountains and commerce. |
