Thai terrorist killed in shootout with security forces
2011-12-19
A suspected terrorist militant was killed and another surrendered to security forces which raided a house in Narathiwat province early on Monday morning. The raid was carried out by a 30-strong combined police and military force after a tip-off that two houses in the area were the hideouts of a number of RKK insurgents. The unit first surrounded a house in Buke Nano village. When told to surrender, the terrorists militants opened fire which began a ten minute exchange of fire.

One terrorist militant, identified as Abdulromae Hare, 31, surrendered to the authorities while the others managed to flee through the cordon of the police and soldiers. Abdulromae was wanted for taking part in a raid on a military outpost in Narathiwat and the theft of a number of weapons on Jan 19. Another terrorist militant was found dead in a subsequent search of the house and an AK47 rifle was found with his body. He was identified as Ruslan Maneng, 30.

In a search of the second house at Phong Yuchi village, the government force found that the terrorists militants had fled.
