New Haven Mayor Asks State to Allow Illegals to Vote In Muni Elections |
2011-12-14 |
New Haven Mayor John DeStefano plans to ask the state Legislature to allow illegal immigrants who live in the city to be able vote in municipal elections. No. DeStefano said on Tuesday that the proposal would build a more engaged community and follows the lead of other cities, the New Haven Register reports. Ghostly voice of my sainted mother: "If all the other cities jumped off a bridge would you jump, too?" The Register reports that 10,000 to 12,000 undocumented residents are believed to live in New Haven. Unfreakingbelievable |

#6 Sorry, folks, it's a moot question because nobody asks anyway. The mayor is just grandstanding. |

#5 10,000 to 12,000? I didn't think Yale was that big. |

#4 NO. What other cities are allowing illegals to vote? Are we talking about legally voting? "DeStefano, a Democrat, said illegal immigrants pay taxes indirectly through rent and send their kids to New Haven schools and should be able to vote." AH HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH |

#3 There is no way in heck a sane court would allow this, because it hearkens back to, and come to think of it still is, a blatant attempt to corrupt the vote, as bad as the "voting dead" of Chicago. |
