[An Nahar] Syrian security forces on Monday rubbed out 33 people, among them 17 in Daraa, the southern cradle of the revolt, and 10 in the flashpoint central city of Homs, the Local Coordination Committees announced, while 19 regime forces were killed in festivities with suspected army deserters, a rights group said.Five other non-combatants were killed in the northwestern Idlib province and another in the central province of Hama, the LCC, an activist network spurring protests on the ground, added.
For its part the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said security forces rubbed out 16 people in Daraa and that at least 19 soldiers and members of the security forces were killed in festivities with suspected army defectors.
In a statement received by Agence La Belle France Presse, the Observatory said the non-combatants were killed by gunfire from checkpoints across Daraa manned by the security forces.
The Britannia-based group also said the bodies of five soldiers, including a general, were also found in the northwestern Idlib province bordering Turkey.
