| Killing Frenzy in Hodeidah |

| [Yemen Post] Medical sources in Hodeidah reported 6 casualties, one of them a man at death's door, after they were shot by snipers at anti-regime rally in the western city of Hodeidah, on Sunday evening. Witnesses told the Yemen Post that snipers were hiding in buildings, opening fire onto protesters as they marched through the streets of Hodeidah, demanding the immediate departure of President President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh. ... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it... Witnesses added that the snipers showered them by bullets as they shot from several places at once, injuring 6 demonstrators. Medical sources also said that one of the maimed was now on a critical state, stressing that he would most certainly die. Others were maimed on their back and shoulders. The Central Security Forces which were present at the demonstration idly stood by not doing anything. Protesters eventually came face to face with thugs, throwing stones at them. |
