| #1 Regulation serves the same purpose as unions - reduce the supply. Regulations keep the existing outfits in business, while discouraging new entries. Regulation is protectionism. Regulation protects the status quo. Which means it protects the weak and the stupid - those that the free market would winnow out. A regulator's dream is a fantastic buggy whip, perfect in every detail, made by dozens of makers, none of whom sell a one. Perfectly regulated, and low carbon-emissions, too! |
