BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s National Alliance, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has decided to hold a meeting on Saturday evening to discuss the abolishment of the National Security Ministry, its Legislature Abbas al-Bayati said. “The Alliance is scheduled to hold a meeting at the residence of its Chairman, Ibrahim al-Jaafary, later on Saturday evening to discuss the mechanism of action and the cohesion of its forces,” Bayaty told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The Meeting has agreed to propose the abolishment of the Ministry of National Security and transform it into a ‘Directorate of National Security’, to be attached to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior,” Bayaty said, adding that the meeting won’t settle the issue of its candidate for the Interior Minister’s post. |
