Solyndra Got More $timulu$ Money than 35 States
2011-09-21
Check out this table of stimulus spending from the Senate Republican Conference. SolyndraÂ’s half a billion in stimulus cash turns out to have been such a large amount of money that it eclipsed 35 entire states. Make sure to link this post on your facebook and twitter feeds, people need to see just how large a boondoggle Solyndra really was.

This wasn't a bailout, it was a money laundering operation to take taxpayer money and funnel it into democratic coffers.

#7  Hard to tell the split - Kansas had a dim temp governor until '10, cornhusker kickback era, etc. so agree with Nimble's conclusion.

Democratic districts also received 2.65 times the amount of stimulus dollars that
Republican districts received $122 billion vs. $46 billion). Republican districts also
received smaller awards on average. The average dollars awarded per Republican district
is $26 million, while the average dollars awarded per Democratic district is about $472
million. In total, Democratic districts received 73 percent of the total stimulus funds
awarded and Republican districts received 27 percent of the total amount awarded.

#5  How many of those states were republican?

Not CO, CT, DE, DC, HA, MD, MA, NM, RI, VT or WA, so it seems pretty reasonable. Probably more a reflection of the power of the congressional delegations than executive favoritism.

#4  Obama couldn't have one of his biggest contributors lose $75 million when Solyndra went bankrupt. That's the taxpayers' job.
