BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Commander of Baghdad Operations, General Ahmed Hashem, has escaped an assassination attempt by an explosive charge blast that wounded two civilians in central Baghdad on Monday, a security source reported.“An explosive charge, targeted against the motorcade of Baghdad Operations Commander, General Ahmed Hashem, had blow up when it passed close to Baghdad Province’s Headquarters, wounding 2 civilians, but caused no losses to the General’s motorcade,” the security source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
