But, as Secret Master says, "their numbers are dwarfed by their more idiotic brethren." Too bad, too - they're great people. I don't think of them as Muslim, just friends - the same way I think of fundamentalist Christians I know. Just normal people. |

| #6 Sure. I know some. Generally Muslims become "liberal" once they become Americanized, for example. (Meaning they are about as liberal as a conservative Republican). There are plenty of "modernized" Muslims out there, though their numbers are dwarfed by their more idiotic brethren. And their are variations between factions. Discounting the wacko government of Iran and their proxies, Shia are typically more mellow than Sunni. Druze, Sufi, Ishmaeli, Kurds, and Ahmadi don't seem particularly interested in fighting with the West. (Though the Ahmadi might talk the West do death.) The young are typically more interested in having fun than praying, fasting, and reading the Koran than the old . And so forth: typical human crap. |

| #4 Based simply on the information provided in the photo essay, it looks as though a tiny number of Muslims have converted from Sufism (mellow, mostly modern) to Salafism (angry, mostly anti-Western). Their photos show mostly the same woman convert over and over again, a ruined building slated to be turned into a Salafist Madrassa at some point, a single religious leader's four wives, and a bunch of shots of middle aged guys who could be Russian or Italian fishing and bathing. Not exactly shots of Hamas burning greenhouses or anything like that. |

| #3 Conservative in faith only. Leave me alone I want to do my own thing. We are poor, disadvantaged, raced hated, deprived of basics all because of Russia. We ignore your laws, you are corrupt, so we have taken matters into our own hands. This has been done before.Russia when it chooses will make its move. To stop or slowdown these sort of events. Arab spring in Russia. I think not. |
