| S. Korea, China to Hold Defense Talks in Seoul |

| Senior military officers from Korea and China are to hold strategic talks in Seoul this week. The Defense Ministry on Sunday said a delegation led by Chinese Deputy Chief of General Staff Ma Xiaotian will visit Seoul for the first strategic dialogue at the vice ministerial level between the two nations. The ministry said the dialogue is expected to provide "a channel for open discussions on all relevant issues between the two with the aim of setting common goals." Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin and his Chinese counterpart Liang Guanglie agreed to open the strategic dialogue channel earlier this month. |
