Four Thai soldiers gunned down at market |

Four soldiers were gunned down by suspected Sgt Kittipong Singha, Sgt Pichit Khamrat, Pvt Khomsan Wongklom and Pvt Weewat Chanthrathep were about to end their security duty at the evening market when gunmen arrived in two pickup trucks that they parked on both sides of the market. The attackers walked towards the soldiers either end, pretending to be shoppers. At close range, they shot the soldiers with assault rifles and pistols. The troops were instantly killed. The gunmen also seized three M16 rifles, an M203 grenade launcher and a pistol. |
