Bomb kills two policemen in southern Thailand |

Two police officers, a man and a woman, were killed and another policewoman seriously injured in a bomb explosion in Narathiwat province on Tuesday morning. They were part of a community relations team, led by Tak Bai's district police chief, which was heading for Taba village to distribute supplies to locals. The team traveled on two pick-up trucks. Just before the vehicles reached the village, The driver, Pol Cpl Suwich Kongsri, 38, and policewoman Cpl Ubonwan Chindaphet, 33, were killed. Another policewoman, L/Cpl Wipawan Kongsud, 26, was seriously injured. A bomb disposal unit which examined the scene reported that the bomb weighed 20 kg. The explosive was contained within a fire extinguisher. |
