| #3 One of Bin Laden's goals was to shock and destroy the US economy, which would affect our warfighting ability. He failed in this. However, the Congress has succeeded in this beyond the wildest dreams of Bin Laden. So who is the real enemy here? If this country goes bankrupt, we will be easy pickin's for our enemies. |

| #1 great link Phil B, i enjoyed reading that Obit. He certainly understood finance. He wasn't stupid. Civil engineers are clever as a rule because they have some maths up their sleeve and they look at the underlying structure of things. Not their surface but how they work and how they are put together. He applied that to our society and went to kick us where it hurt, using our freedom and openness against us. Bin Laden made money off 9/11 too. Someone with his financial nous knew how to short / buy put options on US airline stocks. |
