| Opposition Hold Conference: Accepts GCC Proposal but with Conditions |

| [Yemen Post] In a blurb issued today by Joint Meeting Parties, JMP, they welcomed the GCC initiative and accepted being part of a national unity government on condition that this takes place upon the submission of President-for-Life Saleh's resignation. The GCC proposal calls on the opposition to form a unified government as soon as the agreement is signed, but the JMP said they will do 30 days later, when Saleh is asked to step down. The opposition acceptance of the GCC proposal with their comments were handed over to the Secretary-General of the GCC. The JMP thanked the GCC for thier efforts in helping Yemen get out of its crises. The JMP asked its partners in the GCC to put more pressure from on the Yemeni regime to stop the bleeding and to respect the constitutional right of Yemenis as they express themselves peacefully. |
