Khalil Gibran International Academy to close |
2011-04-08 |
Back in 2007, the middle school Khalil Gibran Intl Academy opened in Brooklyn. It was controversial. Proponents said students would learn arabic, multicultural love and learning. Opponents said students would be gradually turned into terrorists. Now the school is to close. Students and Parents criticized it and tests showed student progress as an "F". Sixth grade enrollment fell to 35. NYC intends to try again and rebrand the school as a high school. |
