Mexican Army units in Nuevo Leon encountered armed suspects and conducted a number of operations in and around Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, killing five and wounding one, operations which included securing an area under a bomb threat.

- A Mexican Army unit responding to a citizen's complaint at about 1150 hrs arrested seven unidentified suspects on calle Cerro del Potosi in the Residencial Santa Catarina colony in Santa Catarina municipality. Soldiers seized three rifles, one handgun, one hand grenade, one vehicle, 12 weapons magazines, 661 rounds of ammunition, one bulletproof vest and five Nextel brand radios.
- A Mexican Army unit located a vehicle in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon containing a number of contraband. The vehicle was found abandoned near the intersection of calles San Alberto and San Andres in the Balcones de Anahuac colony at about 1415 hrs. Seized were retail packages of cocaine, a hand gun and 39 rounds of ammunition.
- An unidentified military unit located a vehicle in Monterrey containing a large amount of marijuana. The vehicle found found at 1540 hrs near the corner of calle Villagran aznd General Treviño.
- At about 1800 hrs a Mexican Army unit located an abandoned van near the intersection of calles Raymundo Almaguer and Cerro del Topo Chico in the Almaguer colony in Guadalupe, Nuevo leon. Soldiers seized marijuana and cocaine with an estimated retail value of $258,000 pesos (USD $20756.35) and 71 7.62mm rounds of ammunition.
- A Mexican Army unit exchanged fire with armed suspects in General Teran, Nuevo Leon Tuesday. The unit was on patrol near the intersection of calles Rayon and Reforma when soldiers noticed a suspicious vehicle, who fired their weapons on the soldiers. The suspects were aboard a vehicle when the shooting started. The driver crashed his vehicle into a fence of a school. Three armed suspects died in the firefight.
- A Mexican Army unit in Juarez, Nuevo Leon shot two suspects and arrested three in an operation Monday evening. Action took place on Avenida Vistas de la Primavera in the Vistas del Rio colony where the army unit was fired on by armed suspects aboard a Chevrolet Impala sedan. The subsequent pursuit led the driver of the suspect vehicle to crash into a van. The shooting continued in a residential area until the two suspects were killed by army rifle fire. Soldiers also found in the same area three individuals who had been held captive.
