Internet Approaching TV As Primary News Source | |
2011-01-05 | |
![]() While television still remains the most popular source for news, about 41 percent of Americans said they get most of their news from the internet, a 17 percent increase since 2007. About 66 percent of people surveyed said they get most of their news from television, down from 74 percent in 2007. But for people younger than 30, the internet surpassed television as the main source of national and international news -- the first time Pew has observed such a feat. Since 2007, the number of 18- to 29-year-olds citing the internet as their main news source nearly doubled. Over the same period, the number of young people who cited television as their main news source dropped to 52 percent from 68 percent. And we can thank Fred and Rantburg for helping put the final nails in the MSM's coffin. Speaking of which, I need to hit the tipjar soon.
