DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: A gang specialized in assassinations and bombing attacks was arrested on Monday in central Khales district in Diala, according to the district’s mayor.“A gang belongs to al-Qaeda’s Islamic State of Iraq was arrested on Monday (Dec. 27) by policemen in al-Junoud neighborhood in central Khales district,” Uday al-Khadran told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, noting that the gangs consists of four elements.
“The cops found a number of bombs and explosive charges during the operation,” he added.
Khales is 15 km north of Baaquba, the capital of Diala, which lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
