8 Die in Northern Mexico
Eight individuals were shot to death in northern Mexican states including a Chihuahua, Chihuahua municipal police officer shot to death late Wednesday night.
- A woman was shot to death in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Wednesday, say Mexican news reports. Maria Elvira Blancarte Flores, 68 was shot as she was leaving her home on calle Mina los Ãngeles in the Sahuaros colony when armed suspects aboard a pickup truck shot her.
- An unidentified individual was shot to death late Wednesday night in Juarez, according to Mexican news accounts. The victim was shot near the corner of calles Mariscal and Begonias near the US border. Several 9mm spent cartridge casings were found at the scene
- An unidentified Chihuahua, Chihuahua police officer was shot to death and his partner was wounded in a shooting in Chihuahua Wednesday night, say Mexican news accounts. The officers were aboard their official pickup truck when they were fired on by armed suspects riding aboard a Dodge Durango near the intersection of Vallarta and Sicomoro. The driver who was hit by gunfire crashed the vehicle injuring the other officer.
- An unidentified man was shot to death in Juarez Thursday night, say Mexican press reports. The victim was shot once in the head near the corner of calles Encino and Begonias. A single 9mm spent casing was found at the scene.
- A woman was shot to death in front of government offices in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Thiursday, say Mexican news reports. Marisela Escobedo was killed by an armed suspect with a single gunshot to the head. Escobedo was the mother of Rubà Marisol who was herself shot to death, whose killer was ordered released by then Chihuahua state Procuradura Patricia Gonzalez.
- An unidentified man was shot to death in Juarez Friday afternoon, say Mexican news accounts. The victim was shot six times with a 9mm weapon near the intersection of calles Francisco Madero and Plutarco in the Division del Norte colony.
- A US soldier was shot to death in Tijuana, Baja California Friday, say Mexican new accounts. Alexander Quirarte Montello, 21, was shot as he was returning the keys to his Zeus Motel room. According to the victim's wife, Montello was taken away by armed suspects and then shot three times.
- An unidentified man was found stabbed to death in Tijuana, Baja California, say Mexican news accounts. The victim was found near the intersection of Calle Los Heroes and Bulevar Sanchez Taboada in the Zona del RÃo colony with four stab wounds to the chest. Four bags of marijuana were also found at the scene
