ISI attacker a ‘martyr’ on Pak Army website |

The Pakistani Army, on Monday, made an unusual entry on its website, listing an ISI agent who died in a “suicide attack” operation in New Delhi as a “martyr”, a newspaper reported on Tuesday. According to the entry that appeared on the website yesterday, ISI operative Zulfiqar Ahmed died in a New Delhi hospital on November 16, 2007. The listing was made in the ‘Shuhada’s (Martyrs’) Corner’ of the Pakistani Army website. The names of Pakistan’s dead in the Kargil War are also listed in the same section. |

#1 Pak Army admits its bomber died in India Dec. 14: A red-faced Pakistan Army has hurriedly removed from its website the records of an alleged suicide bomber of ISI who died in New Delhi in November 2007 of renal failure. According to the website, www.pakistanarmy.gov.pk, the ISI operative on a “suicide attack operation” died in a New Delhi hospital on November 16, 2007. The posting was in the Shuhada’s (martyrs) corner of the website, which has the list of Pakistan’s dead in the 1999 Kargil operation. It named the operative as Zulfiqar Ahmed, his army number as 1726016 and his rank as Naik. |
