MOGADISHU, Somalia - A Somali emergency official says clashes between Islamic fighters and government soldiers have killed at least five people in the chaotic capital.Mogadishu ambulance service chief Ali Muse says 17 others were wounded Thursday as the opposing sides pounded each other with mortars. He says most of the dead and wounded are civilians.
Also on Thursday, residents of the southern town of Burhakaba said fighting between two Islamist groups entered a second day and left 9 dead and 15 wounded.
