PBCP leader killed in 'shootout'
2010-11-25
[Bangla Daily Star] A regional leader of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Janajuddah) was killed in a 'shootout' between his cohorts and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Garamara village in Jhenidah Sadar upazila early Wednesday.
So how many Purbo Banglar Commie regional leaders is this, sarge?
Hmmmmmmm, lemme think...a lot.

The deader was identified as Abdul Kuddus alias Boma Kuddus, 35, son of Montaj Uddin alias Kune Mondol
Alias Vito alias Nunzio alias Boma The Dead Guy...
of Ashwasthali village in the upazila, reports our Jhenidah correspondent.

Kuddus, the regional chief of the banned outfit, had the death sentence on 12 systems, police said.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Rezaul Islam of Jhenidah Rab camp, a plainclothes team of Rab-6 challenged a gang at about 4:30am when they were roaming the area suspiciously.
Another rickshaw mugging, sarge?
Nah, let's go with the old standby. Purba Banglar Commie.
Regional Leader?
Of course...

Sensing danger, the gang opened fire on the law enforcers, prompting them to retaliate that triggered a 'shootout'.
Danger Sensing: Too Late...
The outlaws, at one stage, managed to flee the scene.
... as though they had never been...
Feets don't fail me now...
Later, Rab found Kuddus bullet-maimed and rushed him to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
He's dead, Jim!

Good evening, doc. Got another one for you.
Hello again, sargeant. Busy week?
No. Not really.

Rab recovered one 9mm pistol, a locally made shutter gun, eight rounds of bullets, a wig and local and Indian coins.

#1  This is a repeat story! I must have seen Purba Banglar Communist Party leaders being rubbed out by the RAB dozens of times here. But 4:30am seems a bit early...if BD doesn't have daylight savings time, the sun should be creasing the horizon by then. Doesn't seem like their time...
