| 8 bombs, gunpowder recovered |

| [Bangla Daily Star] Police in a raid recovered eight powerful bombs and one kilogram of gunpowder from Gangni upazila of Meherpur Sunday night. They also recovered splinters from the spot, reports our Kushtia correspondent. Meherpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Shahriar said a team of police conducted a raid at a sugarcane field at Nawdapara village in the upazila at about 7:00pm and recovered the bombs. The raid was conducted acting on a tip given by Lalon alias Lalu, who was jugged after he received injuries in a bomb kaboom at a brick kiln Saturday night. The recovered bombs are powerful, police said, adding that drive was on to arrest the criminals. A General Diary (GD) has been lodged with Gangni Police Station in this connection. |
